Investors who subscribed to the highly anticipated LG Electronics India IPO can finally check their allotment status, as the company has completed the share allocation process. The issue, which drew record interest from retail and institutional investors alike, has turned out to be one of the most sought-after offerings of 2025. The IPO was oversubscribed nearly 54 times, reflecting strong investor appetite for large, consumer-facing businesses. The price band was fixed between Rs 1,080 and Rs 1,140 per share, with the allotment now finalised based on this upper range. According to market observers, the grey market premium (GMP) for LG Electronics India has surged to around Rs 400–Rs 420, suggesting that the stock could list at a 30–35% premium over its issue price when it debuts on the bourses on October 14. This means that investors who received allotments may be sitting on potential listing gains of Rs 5,000–Rs 6,000 per lot, depending on market sentiment at the time of debut. However, analysts caution that grey market trends, while indicative, are not always accurate predictors of actual listing prices. The allotment status can be checked online through the BSE website or via the registrar, KFin Technologies, by entering the PAN, application, or DP/client ID. Shares are expected to be credited to successful bidders’ demat accounts before the listing date. The IPO was a pure offer for sale (OFS) by the company’s parent, LG Electronics Inc., which means no new shares were issued and the proceeds will go directly to the promoters. Despite this, investor interest was robust across categories, particularly among institutional buyers, highlighting confidence in the company’s fundamentals and brand strength. With the festive season approaching and liquidity remaining strong, traders will be watching closely to see whether LG can deliver on its bullish grey-market expectations. 2025-10-13 By Anushka Tripathi
